Jon Bannenberg was a pioneering yacht designer and architect from Australia. He was widely considered to be one of the most influential yacht designers of the 20th century. Notable projects include David Geffen’s yacht Rising Sun, the Lurssen Limitless, and the iconic Kingdom 5KR. Lobanov Design is a design and engineering company that specializes in the creation of bespoke, one-of-a-kind superyachts. Founded in 2007 by Igor Lobanov, the company is known for its innovative designs and attention to detail and has earned a reputation for delivering exceptional quality and craftsmanship in its projects.

BOAT rounds up the biggest and best superyacht concepts released in 2021 by shipyards and designers, including Lloyd Werft, Lazzarini Design and Iddes Yachts. It probably is the 80-metre concept design during Covid time for a north European shipyard. During that moment, the unexpected quantity of time we had allowed us to concentrate a bit more on the ideas and less on production and, for this reason, something extraordinary came out. Our new approach to design – cleaner, smoother and simpler – was born with that concept and this is why it is still my favourite one.

Redman Whitely Dixon (RWD) is a UK-based yacht design studio, established in 1984. RWD is known for its high-quality yacht design and engineering services, with a focus on performance, efficiency and safety. The company’s services include yacht design, naval architecture, interior design, project management and engineering. RWD has a reputation for creating innovative and custom-made yachts, and has worked with some of the world’s leading yacht builders and shipyards. Notable projects include the Lurssen Al Said, the Feadship Faith, and the Amels Ilona. Tommaso Spadolini is an Italian yacht designer and naval architect.
